Athletics

       I have played sports for as long as I can remember. I love being active and being part of a team. I have played hockey in the winter and soccer in the summer for approximately ten years. In the last three years my friends and I have joined a ball hockey league which is extremely fun and we get really the competitiveness. I enjoy extra curricular sports because it gives me more time to spend with my friends and it gives me something to look forward to in the evenings and the weekends.  

Elementary Athletics

       One thing that I remember most about being involved in elementary school sports is that I participated in sports that I had never played before. For example, in grade four and grade five I was on the indoor soccer team which was different than playing soccer outside and in grade six I was on the cross country team which I had never been a part of. Also in grade six I played on the hockey team which was fun because I got to play with the older kids which were in grades seven and eight. Our indoor soccer team did really well placing 1st in grade four and 2nd in grade five.  For cross country, even though I did not do that well, I still enjoyed going to the cross country meet because I had never been to one.  Lastly, when I was on the hockey team we came 2nd overall. Unfortunately, grade six was the last year I got to play sports in school because of COVID. 

 

High School Sports

       In high school I made it on the Chaminade Gryphons Junior Ice Hockey team. I was proud to have made the team because it was my first team in high school and I did not feel very confident that I would make it. Our team played ten games in total and we won three. Interestingly we had a full day tournament that consisted of ten twelve minute run time games. I found that difficult because our shifts were too short and I felt like I did not play enough. The fun part about this day was interacting and laughing with fellow classmates and getting to know my other teammates. Next year I hope to have other experiences playing on different teams.
